Top Picks for Electric Picnic

Top Picks for Electric Picnic

Electric Picnic is fast approaching gals! We think outfit planning is one of the most important parts of a festival but also one of the hardest. So to help you guys out, we went through our stock and rounded up our top picks for Electric Picnic!

First up we have our unreal collection of printed pants. We love wearing some colourful pants at festival, they look fab while keeping you warm and dry. From funky leggings to floral print, we have everything you could want in our trousers section which you can shop here

Our halter tops are an absolute festival essential! These little beauties are reworked from vintage fabric so each one is totally unique, perfect for avoiding awkwardly running into someone in the same outfit as you! Grab your fave one from our rework section here.

Tie Dye dreaminess! There is nothing cooler at a festival than a tie dye tee! Rock yours with some plain denim or go all out and wear it with some printed pants! We have loads of tie dye pieces on our site here but they're flying out so be fast gals!

You can't go to a festival without a pair of denim shorts! They go with every outfit imaginable and nothing looks cooler. We have the best collection of vintage denim shorts around, in every colour, style and length. Check them out here to find your perfect pair.

Fleeces are perfect for those cold festival nights when the temperature starts to drop but you want to keep partying. Cosy up in one of our fab vintage ones, they're available on the site here.

We're praying for some sunny weather for EP but chances are things are gonna get pretty chilly. That doesn't mean that your outfit can't still be slaying though, grab one of our hoodies so you can look cute and stay cosy. We have loads in stock here.

We have the cutest range of swimwear in stock at the minute and it seems like a shame to keep them purely for the beach! Rock your swimsuit as a bodysuit and tuck it into some denim shorts or a pair of printed pants. When you see how cute our swimsuits are (available here) you'll want one for every day of the weekend!

One of the most important bits of your festival outfit is your jacket! Realistically, you're gonna be rocking that jacket all weekend long because Stradbally isn't known to be one of the warmest places in the world. But with jackets as cute as the ones we have in stock at the minute, you won't want to take them off! Shop all our jackets here.

Bindi babe! We love rocking bindis at festivals and we have the most gorge range of bindis in stock here at Nine Crows. Add one of our cute bindis to any outfit to add a sparkly little touch. These are available in both the Dublin and Galway stores and also online here.

We might be biased but we think our Lennon sunglasses are some of the most stunning sunnies around! These are so perfect for a festival, from shielding your eyes from the sun (or rain) to hiding tired eyes after a night full of dancing, you need these babies in your bag for EP! Shop them here.

So you have all your clothes and accessories sorted, but you need somewhere to put them! Pick up one of our sick backpacks or cute little bumbags so you can make sure that your whole outfit is slaying. We have the most amazing range of bags on the site at the minute, check them out here.

Enjoy Electric Picnic gals and make sure to tag us in pics of your looks on insta!

Nine Crows Guide to Electric Picnic

Nine Crows Guide to Electric Picnic

It's finally time for one of our favourite festivals of the year, Electric Picnic! Whether you're a first time festival goer or a seasoned EP visitor, we've put together a little guide for you guys to check out to help you find the best things to be doing down in Stradbally. Enjoy guys!

What To Do

Theatre of Food: Food is one of our favourite bits of a festival and EP never disappoints when it comes to the culinary side of things. From the lads at The Happy Pear to sushi king Takashi Miyazaki, there’s something for everyone, with there even being an actual picnic to enjoy at The Picnic. Fáilte Ireland Food Champions is putting on the longest picnic in Ireland on the Saturday afternoon with hampers full of food and prosecco so if you need a bit of chill time after dancing, you know where to head.

The Hazel Wood: The Hazel Wood is known as the place to go at EP for some chilled out vibes and entertainment. The Gaiety School of Acting will be there, for an immersive storytelling of Irish mythology as will Strive Theatre, who are putting on their much loved black comedy ‘Will It Fit in the Van,’ which centres around topics such as kidnapping, murder, cocaine and biscuits. Also be sure to check out Boombox Nation, for an NYC street party vibe, complete with breakdancers and graffiti artists, in the middle of Stradbally.

The Comedy Tent: Always a fave at EP, the comedy tent has some huge names this year, including Never Mind The Buzzcock’s Bill Bailey, Irish fave Al Porter and Australian comic Damian Clark. The Rubberbandits will also be in attendance as will the Dublin Comedy Improv troupe. So whether you want to laugh till your stomach hurts or simply relax, away from the madness of the main stage, head to the Comedy Tent.

The Full Moon Party: Just Eat are bringing a taste of Thailand to Stradbally and throwing the first ever Full Moon party at the festival. They’re bringing over 200 tonnes of real sand, deckchairs, palm trees and even have an ocean (on a big screen but still). There’ll be neon body paint and spice bags galore so if you want a taste of the tropics, be sure to check this out!

Body and Soul: Body and Soul is returning to EP along with their collection of musicians, poets, artists and performers. There’s plenty to do, including the Immerse Spa Experience where you can nurse hungover heads in a hot tub, a dance hall full of Blues and Jazz if you fancy a step back in time or, for the fancy guys and gals, try a new take on High Tea at the Tiny Tea Tent. No matter what you’re after, the Body and Soul village has something there to please everyone.

Who To See

The XX: The Indie three piece are returning for the second year at Electric Picnic for their second time as headliners and are definitely not one to be missed. The band released their third album ‘I See You’ earlier this year, with heavy influence from band member Jamie XX’s hugely successful solo record ‘In Colour,’ so if it’s a chilled, electronic vibe and incredible vocals you’re after, make sure you catch them on the Friday night.

A Tribe Called Quest: New York natives A Tribe Called Quest have been around since the 1980s and are one of the most loved hip hop groups around. They’re well known for paving the way for a new branch of alternative hip hop, mixing traditional hip hop with other sounds such as jazz. Make sure you catch them on the Saturday night so you can witness their magic in person.

Pete Tong Presents Ibiza Classics Performed By The Heritage Orchestra: Pete Tong is one of the most legendary names in dance music and on the Saturday he’s teaming up with The Heritage Orchestra and conductor and conductor Jules Buckley to perform a new twist on classic dance anthems. If the success of Jenny Greene and the RTE Concert Orchestra from last year is anything to go by, this will be one of the biggest performances of the weekend.

Sunil Sharpe: Sunil Sharpe has played at the likes of Berghain, Fabric and Tresor so you know his set at Electric Picnic will be mind blowing stuff. He has his own style of DJ’ing which has established him as one of the biggest names in techno and has been teaching his techniques and music production in the Bray Institute of Further Education for years so if you want some quality tunes from a techno legend, take note of Sunil Sharpe as a must-see.

Rejjie Snow: Rejjie Snow is one of the biggest names in the Irish hip hop scene and we are v excited to catch him at EP this year. His first release, ‘Rejovich’ in 2013, topped the iTunes hip hop chart, beating the likes of Kanye West to the top. He’s set to release his first studio album this year and if his past work is anything to go by, it’s gonna be absolutely unreal. Swing by and see him so you can see what all the fuss is about.

Also be sure to stop by the Play the Picnic stage where you can see some of the very best emerging Irish talent, including Munky, Scoops, Neon Atlas and Cranky Face.

Make sure to come say hey to us in the Trailer Park where we'll be selling the finest festival threads every day from 12-9!
